In late 2016 Svetlana Dalla Lana stabbed her husband Nathan Dalla Lana in the neck, very nearly killing him. It was related to an affair she had found out about. The story was first leaked by big mouth James McFaddin, brother to Castlegar mayor Maria McFaddin and brother-in-law to Svetlana Dalla Lana. All were and are connected to the New Life Church. Multiple cops in Castlegar/Grand Forks were also closely tied to the New Life Church, including top RCMP asshole Monty Taylor. Svetlana Dalla Lana was arrested, but was released without charges of any kind. She very nearly killed a man and walked completely on the offense thanks to her deep church connections in the hillbilly towns of Castlegar and Grand Forks.

Nathan Dalla Lana cooperated in the conspiracy, probably influenced by the fact his children came from the woman and they would lose their mother if Svetlana faced justice for her crime. The prospects of a tonge wagging scandal about his infidelity in a religious village of idiots also likely prompted him to want to bury the matter. He wisely divorced Svetlana, who became Svetlana Rilkoff.

Svetlana Rilkoff became involved in selling drugs for horses and cows as a cancer cure by the 2020s. Again it was her church connections that were her best customers. In 2021 Svetlana Rilkoff was investigated and signed an undertaking to stop pretending to be a nurse and/or medical professional running her 'clinics'.
